About Air Excel
Established in 1997 and commencing operations in early 1998, Air Excel has grown to become a prominent, owner-run and operated air charter company in Tanzania. From its humble beginnings with a single aircraft and only two employees, the company has experienced significant growth over the years, now boasting a diverse fleet of seven aircraft, ranging in capacity from 9 to 19 passengers, and employing a dedicated team of 40 staff and crew members.
Despite this expansion, Air Excel remains committed to its founding principles, ensuring a personalized, friendly, safe, and efficient service for every customer. The company’s hands-on, owner-run approach is a key factor in delivering this exceptional level of service, as it allows for greater attention to detail and a more intimate understanding of each client’s needs.
Air Excel’s expertise lies in providing private air-charter services within Tanzania and the broader East African region. Their services also extend to offering scheduled flights to popular destinations such as the Northern Circuit, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam. By catering to the unique requirements of each traveler, Air Excel has built a reputation for excellence in both private and scheduled air transportation across the region.
Baggage, Check-in and Children
Baggage Allowance and Restrictions:
Each passenger is allowed a total baggage weight of 33 lb (15 kg), including carry-on items. For checked luggage, only soft-shell bags are permitted, with a maximum weight of 30 lb (13.5 kg). Ideally, these bags should not have wheels. Each individual is limited to one piece of checked luggage with dimensions not exceeding Height 9.8 in x Width 11.8 in x Length 24.4 in (25 cm x 30 cm x 62 cm). Excess baggage will only be accepted if there is sufficient capacity, and it will be subject to a charge of $3 USD per kg.
Traveling with Children:
A 30% discount on the full adult ticket price is available for children between the ages of 2 and 12. Infants under 2 years old are eligible to fly free of charge, but they must share a seat with an accompanying adult.
Check-in Procedures:
Check-in takes place at the designated airport or airstrip and is designed to be a quick and hassle-free process. To ensure a smooth boarding experience, passengers are required to complete the check-in process at least 45 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time.
Our Fleet
Air Excel’s diverse fleet consists of the following aircraft, designed to cater to various passenger capacities and flight requirements.
- Cessna 208B Grand Caravan (7 units): This 13-seater aircraft is perfectly suited for navigating short airstrips while carrying heavy loads. Its design and capabilities make it an excellent choice for trips requiring both passenger capacity and reliable performance in challenging conditions.
- Cessna 406 Caravan (1unit): A swift 12-seater aircraft, the Cessna 406 Caravan is ideal for covering longer distances. Its combination of speed and capacity makes it a popular choice for extended trips while still providing a comfortable experience for passengers.
- LET 410 (1 unit): As the largest aircraft in the fleet, the LET 410 seats between 17 and 19 passengers and boasts the most spacious cabin in its class. This airplane is designed to accommodate larger groups while ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable flight experience for all on board.
