Baggage, Check-in and Children
Baggage Allowance and Restrictions:
For domestic airlines in East Africa, particularly those servicing islands and remote airstrips, weight and cargo bay limitations are crucial factors for small aircraft. As such, As Salaam Airways enforces specific baggage allowances and restrictions to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Each passenger is allowed a baggage weight of 15 kg, with soft-shell bags strongly recommended to fit into the aircraft’s cargo pods or holds. Although excess baggage may be accepted for an additional fee, its transportation on the same flight as the passenger is not guaranteed. Carry-on or cabin baggage is restricted to small personal items, such as cameras, documents, laptops, and medication.
Check-in Procedures:
To ensure a smooth boarding process, passengers are advised to check in at least 45 minutes before their scheduled departure time. Check-in counters close 30 minutes prior to departure, and boarding procedures are designed to be straightforward and hassle-free.
