About Regional Air
Established in 1997 as a leader in Tanzania’s aviation industry, Regional Air Services began with a single pilot and aircraft. Affiliated with the well-known Nairobi-based domestic airline, Airkenya, the company is based in Arusha, the northern Tanzanian town that serves as the starting point for all safaris into the region.
Regional Air Services’ schedule connects with Airkenya’s flights to and from Nairobi, as well as flights to Pemba, Mafia, and Selous Park from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Currently employing 37 staff members, including 10 pilots, the company was founded and managed for seven years by renowned East African pilot, Iris McCallum. Iris established a reputation for safety, reliability, and friendly efficiency, earning her the prestigious “Guinness Stout Effort” award for bravery in flying in 1980.
Planning a trip around Tanzania is simple, with Kilimanjaro International Airport providing easy access from Europe and the rest of the world. Situated to the west of the airport, the vibrant town of Arusha serves as the gateway to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Regional Air operates daily flights from Arusha, and we are eager to help you embark on a journey to discover the breathtaking beauty and warm hospitality of Tanzania.
